Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of lauriwilde.com and app.lauriwilde.com — together, the "Service" — operated by Lauri Wilde ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

The Service is a digital companion to Lauri Wilde's spiritual teachings, including:

  • The book The Impossible Journey: Transcending Illusion Through Nine Ancient Awakenings

  • The Wisdom Cards deck (33 cards based on the Northumberland Rune set)

  • Card readings (Single, Three Card, Soul Reading, Nine Awakenings Reading)

  • The Nine Awakenings personal-progress framework with a journal and self-rating tools

  • An AI Spiritual Coach (paid tiers)

  • Live training and energy sessions (Full Members)

  • Bookings for one-to-one sessions and book club via Calendly

The Service is provided for personal, reflective, and spiritual exploration. It is not a substitute for professional advice — see Section 9 below.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or 13 years old in the United States, with verifiable parental or guardian consent) to create an account. By using the Service, you represent that you are old enough and have legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

The Service is not intended for use in jurisdictions where it would be unlawful.

3. Your account

3.1 Sign-in

You can create an account with Google, Apple, or Microsoft, or by receiving a magic-link email. We do not store passwords. Your sign-in credentials live with your identity provider.

3.2 Account responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your sign-in method secure

  • All activity under your account

  • Notifying us promptly at lauri@lauriwilde.com if you suspect unauthorised access

One person per account. You may not share access or sell your account.

3.3 Account deletion

You can request that we delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing lauri@lauriwilde.com. Some records may be retained for legitimate business or legal reasons as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Membership tiers and billing

The Service offers several tiers:

4.1 Sign-up promotion

New accounts may receive a 60-day free Digital membership as a sign-up gift. The promotion expires automatically after 60 days, at which point your account reverts to the Free tier unless you have manually upgraded. The terms of the promotion may change for new sign-ups, but will not affect users already on a promotion.

4.2 Paid membership

Paid memberships will be processed by PayPal when offered. By providing payment information, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees.

  • Subscription term: Monthly or annual, as selected at sign-up.

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each term unless cancelled before the next billing date.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period.

  • Refunds: Generally we do not provide refunds for partial periods. We will issue a refund in cases of duplicate charges or other clear errors on our part. For consumer-protection-mandated refund rights in your jurisdiction (e.g. the EU 14-day cooling-off period), we will honour them.

  • Price changes: We may change prices for new sign-ups or future renewals. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price increase affecting them.

If paid memberships are not yet active at the time you read these Terms, the relevant clauses will only apply once they go live.

5. AI features and their limitations

The Service includes AI-generated content — card-reading interpretations, AI Spiritual Coach responses, content moderation, and similar features powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o model.

By using these features, you understand and agree:

  • AI responses are machine-generated and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or unexpected outputs.

  • AI responses are not medical, psychological, financial, legal, or other professional advice (see Section 9).

  • The questions you submit and the messages you send are processed by OpenAI under their enterprise data terms; OpenAI does not use this data to train its models.

  • We may store your inputs and the AI responses to display your reading history and journey. You can delete this data — see our Privacy Policy.

6. Your content

6.1 What "Your Content" means

"Your Content" includes anything you submit to the Service: reading questions, journal entries, AI coach messages, awakening reflections, self-ratings, and similar.

6.2 Ownership

You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.

6.3 Licence to us

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and process Your Content only as needed to operate the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that we may retain backups and aggregated, de-identified analytics as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.4 What we won't do

  • We won't sell Your Content.

  • We won't share Your Content publicly or with other users.

  • We won't use Your Content to train AI models.

  • We won't use Your Content for marketing without your separate consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose

  • Submit content that promotes illegal activity, sexual exploitation of minors, or violence against others

  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to derive source code from the Service

  • Bypass rate limits or other access controls

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data

  • Use the Service to send spam, phishing attempts, or malware

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

8. Content moderation

Reading questions, AI coach messages, and similar inputs are screened by an automated content-moderation system before they reach the AI model.

8.1 Self-harm content

If our system detects content describing self-harm, suicidal ideation, or similar urgent themes, we will not generate a reading or coach response. Instead, we'll display crisis resources — for example, the US 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the international IASP directory, and other relevant links.

The Service is not a crisis-intervention or emergency service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (US: 911, EU: 112) or a crisis hotline directly.

8.2 Strike system

Other categories of harmful content (defined in our content-moderation policy) trigger a strike system:

Severe categories — such as content involving minors or instructions for serious illegal violence — result in immediate permanent block, and may be reported to authorities.

8.3 Appeals

If you believe a strike was issued in error, email [CONTACT_EMAIL] with your account details and the context of the submission. We will review and respond.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.1 Not professional advice

The Service is a tool for spiritual reflection and personal exploration. It is not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals. In particular:

  • Not medical advice. If you are experiencing a physical or mental health concern, please consult a licensed healthcare provider.

  • Not psychological / psychiatric advice. If you are experiencing emotional distress, please consult a licensed therapist or counsellor.

  • Not financial advice. If you face significant financial decisions, please consult a licensed financial professional.

  • Not legal advice. Consult a licensed lawyer in your jurisdiction.

You assume full responsibility for any decisions you make based on insights gained from the Service.

9.2 Service availability

We aim to provide a reliable Service but make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 Our content

The book The Impossible Journey, the Wisdom Cards art and meanings, the Nine Awakenings framework, the Service's design, and all written and visual content provided by us are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws and remain our property (or the property of our licensors).

You may view this content within the Service for your personal use. You may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, or republish it

  • Use it for commercial purposes without our written permission

  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works

10.2 Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Service, you agree we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, attempt to abuse the Service, or for compliance reasons.

After termination:

  • You lose access to the Service

  • We retain your data for the periods described in our Privacy Policy

  • Sections 6 (Your Content licence — for backup retention), 9 (Disclaimers), 12 (Limitation of Liability), 13 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing Law), and any other provisions that by their nature should survive termination, will continue to apply

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  • OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) [CURRENCY] 100.

These limitations apply whether the basis for liability is contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability — to that extent, the limitations above will not apply to you, and your statutory rights remain.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in breach of these Terms

  • Your violation of any law or third-party right

  • Your Content or any submission you make through the Service

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING_JURISDICTION — e.g. "the State of California, USA" or "Finland"], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

14.1 Informal resolution first

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us at [CONTACT_EMAIL] before any formal action. We will work in good faith to resolve concerns.

14.2 Forum

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts located in [FORUM_COURT — e.g. "Los Angeles County, California"], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14.3 Consumer protections

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws (e.g. EU member states, the UK, Australia), nothing in this Section overrides those rights.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top

  • Notify you by email (newsletter subscribers) or via an in-app notice

  • For material changes, give you at least 30 days' advance notice when possible

If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.

  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business.

  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
